July brings multiple opportunities!!

Big Bug Season Is Over

Now that we’re into the second week of July, big bug season is officially over—at least for me. I’m sure there are still a few spinner falls and some hatchers happening somewhere out there. But for this Manistee and Au Sable guide, it’s time to move on to other things.

Like… just going fishing. 😄

There’s so much to look forward to: early morning starts on the river, tossing terrestrials, and late nights flinging furry rodents for big brown trout.

But my favorite part of the next two months? The smallmouth opportunities. They’re shaping up to be awesome.

So whether it’s browns in the dark or bronzebacks in the sun, there’s no bad time to be on the water.
